7) Will be accompanied in the aircraft by at least one custodial parent or legal guardian who for safety is proficient to at least Level A2 (Elementary or Pre-Intermediate) English.
8) Generally requires no more than the direct physical assistance one person to be placed into the aircraft seat.

Then they may be eligible for a 'Be a Pilot' Experience facilitated by Angelflights.ca .

We have found that the easiest way to initiate the process is to please email us at:

To maintain our fiduciary responsibility and remain within are charitable terms of reference, we will need to confirm the the 'Be a Pilot' Experience candidate is an active oncology patient being managed by CHEO Pediatric Oncology service. As such, the child's custodial parent(s) or a legal guardian must be willing to sign a limited medical release or information (ROI) document to confirm this. Pediatric inpatients must also have written approval by their attending physician for the 'Be a Pilot' Experience. As per our privacy policy, we will not otherwise share your information in any way other than to facilitate the 'Be a Pilot' Experience flight.

1) Please do not include any medical information in the email.
2) Please include your name and your child's name along with their height and who their primary oncologist is.

We will then forward you the ROI document and the next steps in the process. Consent for flight forms will be completed once it is determined that the Be a Pilot Experience is safe and appropriate for the child.
Note that Angelflights.ca previously facilitated free air transportation (using small single engine aircraft and volunteer pilots) for family members of patients to travel primarily from remote areas of Northern Ontario to larger airports or so that they could travel to visit their hospitalized loved ones, when such transportation would otherwise be virtually impossible due to financial and/or geographic limitations. We are not providing this service at this time.
